The Kings are the hottest team right now winning 6 in a row. The Devils have been hit or miss on any given night. This game will be a good and equal battle on all five front’s with how different their styles of play are. For LA to win they will need to win a defensive and goaltending battle. The should not be able to keep pace with New Jersey’s offense. If New Jersey gets to three goals it should be their win. If LA wins this game it most likely is a 3-1 or lower win. David Rittich has played well above expectation this season. My gut says the Kings winning streak ends but they should be favored based on recency. If you want value, take the Kings +125; they have won 5 of the last 7 meetings.

We play the Penguins against the Caanadiens every time it presents itself. The Penguins offense reminds itself it can score each time they see Montreal. I always like it more when Montreal is coming off a win. Montreal is a bad team and winning streaks don’t usually happen for them. If they win this game it shouldn’t affect the team total play for the Penguins. When Montreal scores it pushes the game way over. Pittsburgh’s team total of three is extremely cheap because the books know how volatile the Penguins can be; they’ve scored less than 3 goals in 50% of their games, and they’ve cashed their team total of three in only 30% of their games (9/30). The fact that we get the push as an option for only -135 is the safety net. In 10 out of the last 12 games against the Canadiens they have hit that total. Pittsburgh is healthy tonight and Sam Montembeault is 2-2-1 with a 3.16 and .897 SV % against the Pens in his career. We should know pretty early how this game is going to go. If Montreal gets on the board first early in the first we are going to jump of the game over live. We will be on the Penguins total pregame.
Columbus has given up 3 or more in their last 6. Washington has won 6 of 7 and are just as hot as the Kings. Alex Ovechkin is set to return within the week and make this Capitals team even strong. Jet Greaves is in net for Columbus and makes his season debut which increases my love for the Capitals tonight. The money line at -165 is low, I would have set it at -200. Washington should win this game but if they don’t it will be high scoring and we’ll be able to adjust live.
