Vegas/Washington is a finals rematch that Vegas has since been able to rebound from. Washington’s window of success during the Ovechkin era is seemingly over and they will be a team on the outside looking in. On paper this is a one sided matchup and the books are tempting us to play Vegas. Yesterday I tempted fate playing the Bruins team total over 2.5 at -180. The books are offering us Vegas at 2.5 for -190. I’m going to play the total of 3 at -125 to play it safe.
Vancouver and Tampa Bay are two teams that can score and this is a game that seemingly should go over. Vasilevskiy is the better netminder but the Lightning are not the same team lately. Vancouver has been a mess their first two games losing a 4-1 lead to the Flames opening night and then getting shut down by Sam Ersson and the Flyers. Let these two play tonight and if there’s an empty net situation at the end of the game we can jump on it. I’d rather watch this out of conference matchup than make a play.
Florida should run wild on the Blue Jackets tonight. Barkov and Tkachuk still being out suppresses the line to get the money line at -145 and the team total at three. I’m going to play this all three ways because the only way the Panthers lose is if Columbus offense goes wild. Either way, Florida should hit their three goals.
I won’t be touching Carolina until I see how the team does with all the off season subtractions. We’ve made a lot of money on the Devils so far this season so no need to press a tough divisional matchup. This game matters more to the Devils being able to make a statement in the division than it does the Hurricanes.
