Last night was disappointing but not terrible, going 0-1-2. Carolina pressed too hard in the final minutes, keeping Markstrom in the net until the final 1:40. I was hoping he would be pulled early enough to get the second empty net. Carolina’s win puts our -1.5 series bet in great shape but New Jersey heads home for the next two games. These two don’t play again until the 25th, but with lines already posted, we can see that Carolina’s ML and team total are both playable. Carolina should win this series 4-1, and being on the road allows us to get the team total at 2.5 -160. If you want to make the plays now, you can, but I’m not guaranteeing we will officially be on them, but we will either be on these two plays or on nothing at all.
Washington and Montreal play game two tonight. Here’s what I can say about this series… Washington may win this series 4-1 or 4-0, but it will be the hardest fought series of the earliest ending series’. I am tempted to take Montreal on the +1.5 and then on the money line when they play at home. I did expect the game to be more high scoring in game one but that was reliant on both teams. I plan to stay off the over tonight with how game 1 ended but it will be a game I will look for live if the scoring is apparent early. If Washington wins tonight and goes up 2-0 it won’t deter me from taking Montreal in game three.
Dallas and Colorado will be lead by the 5.5 series bet and I have no problem staying off the game by game. There is value on Dallas’ money line tonight as well as their 2.5 team total. This game will be better late in the third depending on the score and planning on 1-2 empty net games.
