Florida made a huge splash at the deadline adding Brad Marchand, but be aware he is injured and will be out for a bit. The Panthers are also without Matthew Tkachuk until the playoffs. Buffalo on the other hand shipped Dylan Cozens out as well as Henri Jokiharju. I like Florida here even with the injuries but for the price I’m going to tread lightly. Vitek Vanecek is having a terrible season, albeit while playing for the San Jose Sharks, but he gets the start tonight for the Panthers. This is a good tune up game for him with a high caliber team in front of him, but he could be shaky to start. The 5.5 game total seems appealing here but I’m going to wait and see how the game starts.
I’m laying off Montreal and Calgary with two Canadian out of conference teams playing each other. Calgary is a cheap price tonight and I like them more with Patrik Laine dealing with flu lie symptoms.
Colorado and Toronto are two teams who made completely opposite waves at the deadline. Toronto failed to pick up a star player while Colorado making waves adding Brock Nelson and Brandon Carlo, while bringing back Erik Johnson. This game should be off the charts in scoring with Stolarz and Blackwood in net even though both have played very well. Toronto is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Golden Knights really sparking the questions of what the team needs at the deadline. Colorado may be more dangerous now than they were during their Cup run and if it wasn’t for the current playoff set up and the strength of the Central division, I’d be much more confident in Colorado heading straight to the finals.
