Colorado is rolling, with their only loss in the last eight games coming on a night we went big on them. They have another favorable matchup tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks. This game will be live on TNT at 7:30 tonight for everyone who wants to watch on cable. Colorado should dominate the pace, but will have Trent Miner making his starting debut. Miner came in relief earlier in the season but has yet to start for them. Colorado has shut the Hawks out in five or their last ten matchups but Chicago has scored three or more in four of those other five. Colorado will either score two tonight or 4+. With the way this past week has gone the likelihood is more on them scoring two so we can get a little fancy here if you want to play under two for +500 or under 2.5 for +250 with 3.5 being -160. For Colorado to end on three they need to miss the empty net or lose in OT in a 4-3 game and I don’t see either of those scenarios happening. It’s 4+ or 2 tonight for them and I’m riding the 4+.
Vancouver is a disaster right now and Washington is coming off a loss to the Sabres the other night in a game I said don’t be surprised if Buffalo wins, especially at +175. I regret not playing that ML being that we were on their team total of 2.5. We still made money on the game but pushed the Caps team total instead of putting that into the game over. They will rebound tonight especially with Kevin Lankanen in net for the Nucks. I like that we’re able to get this total at 3. If we were at 3.5 I’d be less intrigued. I also will be playing Alex Ovechkin to score the last goal. With him chasing Gretzky’s record I want him in every empty net situation and he should have one tonight. Ovi has the most empty net goals in history and should rack more up as the season goes.
Florida should rebound tonight in a matchup with Utah. The line is too low at -135 and call it a trap or not, these two teams are on different playing levels. This line should be -175 so I’m going to play it and play the spread. The team total of 2.5 is very much live when it climbs down from the -200 price range.
