Goooood evening everyone,
Today is the day the NHL puts every team on the slate and staggers the start times. We are in for a treat from 6 pm until 11 pm so be sure to keep an eye on the article throughout the night. The league will do this to avoid there being a period where all games are in intermission and keep the games flowing ;). We start with two games at 6 pm and I expect tonight to be a heavy night. Let’s jump right in!
The Penguins and Flyers play bangers and this is a matchup we play the over in year after year matchup after matchup. Obviously when you play your own division more than others you are more likely to score more points against them than others, but the Islanders and Flyers are the top two teams Sidney Crosby has scored goals and assists against. This is a battle of Pennsylvania and the Penguins are 6-2-2 in overs on the year. I categorize that as 8-2 as the two pushes would have been on a total of 6 but we would have obviously played that down to 5.5 and won. Rakell is out tonight so that boosts my liking on Crosby to score.
The Flames are coming off a drubbing of the Rangers which I think sets them up for a bad loss tonight. Toronto has done well for us this season so far and I will be laying into them tonight. I’m not playing the 6:30 game so I am going to go heavy here, because by the 6:45 start time for my next favorite game we should have an inclining on how the Leafs are trending.
